Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) unit

The cardiovascular magnetic resonance unit performs non-invasive investigation of congenital heart disease and a wide variety of acquired cardiovascular diseases.

Ground floor CMR building (next to Private Patients), opposite entrance to main hospital building in Sydney Street

Availability

Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm

Saturday and Sunday, research only

Information for doctors

Always check with patient for any contraindications to CMR. If in any doubt about previous surgery, metallic implants etc. please contact CMR unit for advice.

Outpatient requests

Please send CMR request form or referral letter direct to the CMR unit.

Inpatient requests

Send a request form to the CMR unit. Always phone to discuss patient’s clinical history and to allow us to prioritise patients for first available scanning slot. Please note that scans usually take an hour.
