Singing for Breathing

Singing for Breathing aims to complement physiotherapeutic support for respiratory conditions by introducing patients to a new form of exercise that encourages a better understanding of breath control through the use of the voice.

Singing for Breathing helps patients to:

  • learn breathing techniques
  • release physical tension
  • meet new people
  • have fun!

Group workshops are available weekly. Please see below for timeslots:

  • every Monday 11.30am with Elisa Jeffery
  • every Monday 2pm with Elisa Jeffery
  • every Tuesday 11am with Edmund Jeffery

Taster sessions delivered by Rosie Watters take place on a monthly basis. Please email arts@rbht.nhs.uk to find out more.

Singing for Breathing is funded entirely through charitable donations. Set up in 2008, the project’s success has encouraged other hospitals across the country to create similar programmes. We thank the Morrisons Foundation, Samuel Gardner Memorial Trust and participants for their continued support to the programme.
