An innovative virtual reality solution to prevent delirium in patients recovering after major surgery is being tested at Harefield Hospital.

The three charities for patients, families and supporters of Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust have today launched a campaign calling on NHS England to change their plans to decommission congenital heart disease services from the Trust. 

Peers spoke out yesterday (14 December) in support of Royal Brompton’s congenital heart disease (CHD) services during questions in the House of Lords. They highlighted the high standard of care provided at the Trust and the impact that uncertainty about the future of services is having on patients and staff. 

Sally Morgan, Baroness Morgan of Huyton, has been appointed Chair of Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust. She will begin her three-year tenure on 1 January 2017.
