Our award-winning food allergy clinic

The Trust's food allergy service has been recognised in a national award scheme.

Isabel Skypala, consultant dietitian and clinical lead for food allergy, was rewarded at the Allied Health Professionals & Healthcare Scientists (AHP & HS) UK Awards 2009 for her innovative work in setting up a dedicated food allergy clinics for adults. The clinic enables patients with a suspected food allergy to be seen quickly by an expert team, and as a result to receive a rapid diagnosis.

The clinic was chosen from over 300 applicants to receive one of the six AHP & HS awards at a ceremony held in February at London’s Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington. As well as recognising the benefits to patients, the award also acknowledges the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in the diagnosis of food allergy.
