Today (09 February) , NHS England launched its much-delayed public consultation on the national congenital heart disease (CHD) review, which includes proposals to end CHD services at Royal Brompton Hospital.

The three charities for patients, families and supporters of Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust have today launched a campaign calling on NHS England to change their plans to decommission congenital heart disease services from the Trust. 

Peers spoke out yesterday (14 December) in support of Royal Brompton’s congenital heart disease (CHD) services during questions in the House of Lords. They highlighted the high standard of care provided at the Trust and the impact that uncertainty about the future of services is having on patients and staff.
