Biography

Mr Ulrich Rosendahl is one of the world’s leading cardiac surgeons with significant technical and clinical experience in advanced complex cardiac surgery. 

He was appointed consultant cardiac surgeon at Royal Brompton Hospital in 2012. Prior to that he worked at the Heart Institute in Baden, Germany, and the Texas Heart Institute.

Clinical interests

Mr Rosendahl's specialist interests focus around surgical repair of the aortic root, arch and thoracic aorta, aortic valve surgery (including the sutureless aortic valve), reconstruction of the mitral valve, minimally invasive surgery, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery and the Exostent. 

Teaching and research

Alongside his clinical commitments, Mr Rosendahl holds a substantive research post in the National Institute of Health Research biomedical research unit and is an honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College London. He has published more than 100 research findings.

Mr Rosendahl was quoted in Arab Health Magazine talking about the positive impact 3D printing technology is having on the healthcare industry.
