Areas of expertise
Mr Anthony de Souza has been a consultant cardiac surgeon at Royal Brompton Hospital since 1998 and has expertise in all aspects of cardiac surgery.
His main interest lies in innovative techniques for minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and also performed the first successful robotic endoscopic CABG in the UK.
Memberships
Mr De Souza has served on the Advisory Panel for Interventional Procedures for the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) and has also served as director for the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (ISMICS).
He is currently the clinical director of surgery at Royal Brompton Hospital.
Teaching
Mr De Souza lectures and mentors on an international scale, namely on techniques of minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
