Dr Rakesh Sharma is the clinical lead for heart failure at Royal Brompton Hospital. He also has specialist expertise in: 

  • advanced pacing (including the implantation of biventricular pacemakers and defibrillators)
  • cardiac sarcoidosis
  • cardio-oncology.

Dr Sharma is a regular speaker at national and international conferences, including the: 

  • British Cardiac Society
  • British Society of Heart Failure 
  • European Society Cardiology  
  • American Heart Association.

Publications and research

Dr Sharma has an active research programme in heart failure and complex device therapy. He is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed articles (including original papers, reviews, editorials, abstracts and book chapters).
