Biography

Dr Jaymin Morjaria studied at St Bartholomew’s and Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary, University of London, graduating in 2000. His research was in severe asthma and he gained an MD in the subject from the University of London in 2009. 

He completed his specialist training at the East of England (Cambridge) Deanery in 2010 and worked at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust for five years until August 2015.

At this trust, Dr Morjaria led the airways service, participated in the respiratory and general medical rotas, and saw patients with general respiratory conditions including pulmonary malignancies. His role also saw him as principal investigator (pharma- and investigator-led) in a number of research studies in airways diseases, bronchiectasis and cough.

Teaching

Dr Morjaria has taught various delivery modalities of education to medical students, junior doctors and healthcare professionals in both primary and secondary care.

He has also lectured and presented at local, national and international meetings.

Membership

Dr Morjaria is a member of the British Thoracic Society (BTS) and the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and is also on the panel involved in developing the BTS’s asthma guidelines. 

He regularly reviews and contributes articles to peer-reviewed journals, and is on the editorial board of Therapeutic Advances in Chronic Disease.
