Biography
Dr Carles Bautista attained his medical degree from the University of Barcelona Medical School. He then went on to complete a residency in paediatrics and paediatric cardiology at the Hospital Sant Joan De Deu, University of Barcelona. He also completed his master’s degree in science clinical research from the University of Barcelona Postgraduate Medical School.
Dr Bautista has also completed fellowships in cardiology in Stockholm (Sweden), Tokyo (Japan) and London (UK) as well as a PhD in paediatric pathophysiology from the University of Barcelona medical school.

Research interests
Dr Bautista has research interests in minimally invasive interventional procedures in premature babies, newborns, children and adults.
Dr Bautista has led and participated in multicenter projects inthe field of PDA-ASD or VSD closure, valve implantations and stenosis/obstruction relief to avoid surgery. He also has research interests in the long-term implications of COVID-19 on paediatrics.
