The radionuclide ventriculography scan (RNV) is also known as the multigated acquisition scan (MUGA).
This scan looks at how well your heart is beating. We will give you two injections on the day of the test. The first injection uses a substance to label (tag) your red blood cells for the test.
The second injection will be given to you about 20 minutes later. The second injection contains a small amount of radioactive material which shows up the blood in your heart in images. We will use our special camera to take images of your heart for about 20 minutes. This scan is also known as the multigated acquisition scan or MUGA for short.
There are currently no related conditions associated with this test.
