Overview
This one-day interactive workshop aims to focus on knowledge and skills around communication in the paediatric critical care practice. The resource and contents cover PICM sub-specialty outcome 5 (GPC 3, 5, 6) and FICM syllabus domains (7.1, 7.4, 8.2, 8.3, 12).
Course objective
This course aims to provide skills and training on planning effective, efficient and compassionate interactions, from conducting family meetings to breaking significant news. There will be opportunity to engage in small group discussions and an opportunity to simulate true to life scenarios, facilitated by multi-disciplinary professionals from clinical psychology, palliative care and intensive care medicine.
Who is it for?
Medical and nursing staff in paediatric critical care, with minimum of 3 months of experience in critical care practice.
