On Tuesday 13 May, the Research Office ran a raising research awareness event at Harefield. The goal was to showcase the 260+ active research projects taking place across both sites and generate research interest amongst Trust staff, patients and family members.
The display area featured information on the myriad of studies, grouped by disease areas. Visitors were invited to read through the study information and ask questions. Individuals who had participated in studies, either as a patient or a research nurse, were keen to share their experiences.
The event will be followed by the Annual Heart & Lung Research Open Day at Royal Brompton Hospital on Friday 23 May from 11.30am-2pm). Stands will be set up in both Sydney Street and the Fulham Road Wing providing Trust researcher’s with opportunities to:
- inspire young people and adults to take an interest in specialist subject areas in heart and lung care
- find out public views on particular areas of heart and lung research
