Clinicians focussed on critical care research (who work with colleagues in paediatrics) are:

 

 

Dr Jeremy Cordingley: the control of insulin administration in critically ill patients.

 

Professor Timothy Evans: aetiology and treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome.

 

Dr Simon Finney: extracorporeal support of the heart and lungs; glucose control in the critically ill and statistical exploration of large data sets.

 

Dr Mark Griffiths: cellular responses to acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS); the role of lung epithelial cells in lung injury and repair.
