Cardiovascular disease remains the most common cause of premature mortality in the western world and is a growing and substantial problem in emerging and developing nations.
With the benefits of modern cardiac care, many more patients survive, but often live with distressing symptoms or other limitations. Many cardiovascular conditions are long-term illnesses that will affect patients, and their families and carers over many years.
Our mission is to improve the lives of the global community of patients living with cardiac disease. Patients and their families will be central to everything we do: not only in our research but with a role in its planning, analysis and development. We are grateful for the continuing support of our patients and their families in our search for better approaches to prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
