 Our vision:

  • ensure society values and has confidence in our research

  • demonstrate the importance of research in society

  • increase awareness amongst researchers that public involvement and engagement activity is an important part of the Trust's research strategy

  • create a culture where social and ethical issues is an important factor in informing research decisions

  • inspire the next generation of researchers.

Our strategic aim is to actively involve patients and the public in our researchto ensure we continue to produce high quality research focused on patient benefit, and increase public awareness and interest in our heart and lung research.

This will be achieved through the following objectives:

  • ensure consistently high standards in public involvement, engagement and participation

  • develop and maintain collaborations across local and national organisations to deliver PPIE

  • evaluate public involvement, engagement and participation to capture impact and continue to develop and improve
