Intensive care

The two intensive care units comprise a total of 30 intensive care beds and provide postoperative care for cardiothoracic patients, as well as care for patients with congenital heart disease, cardiological compromise and severe respiratory disease. Our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) has 12 critical care beds equipped with the latest technology to care for our younger patients. Visitors, usually family members, are encouraged to visit.

Additional information: Expertise of these units is recognised throughout Europe. Patients with diffi cult to manage acute respiratory failure and weaning problems referred from hospitals both in the UK and abroad.
