Heart and lung specialist staff
Our consultants, highly skilled in the treatment of both adults and children, are all specialists in their respective fields with a great wealth of experience between them. This experience has enabled the Trust to pioneer a number of new and effective treatments including stenting, ablation (to correct overfast heartbeats) and, for respiratory problems, lung volume reduction.
Every private patient can be confident that they will have access to the most comprehensive range of advanced surgical and medical facilities that are only available from a large, specialist NHS Hospital.
Fair prices for private treatment
Our pricing policy is based on the principle that it should be simple, open and fair. Our prices, when compared to a great many comparable private institutions, are also very competitive. When patients have health insurance with a recognised UK company, we can, in most cases, arrange for your account to be settled directly by them, thereby alleviating unnecessary burden from the patient.
All income generated by the provision of private care within NHS hospitals goes back into the hospital's general finances. This supports a large number of research initiatives and improvements, which allows the Trust greater flexibility in the way we manage our services. This has a resultant benefit for all patients whether they are of private or NHS status.
Our mission
Our vision is to maintain and strengthen our reputation as the leading national and international centre for the diagnosis, treatment and care of people with heart and lung conditions.
It is an ambition that relies on recruiting and training clinical, medical, nursing and support staff who we believe are tomorrow’s healthcare leaders.
Over 2,500 people work at our hospitals, providing specialist care and creating and disseminating clinical knowledge that will benefit people today and the generations to come.
