Infection prevention and control

MRSA [pdf / 404KB] This policy describes the Trust mechanism for the identification (including screening) and appropriate management (including treatment) of patients and staff who have MRSA.

Policy and procedures for the infection control management of patients with Tuberculosis (incl multi [pdf / 328KB] This policy describes how the Trust will manage the care and treatment of patients with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), and the management of staff found to have MTB during the course of their employment.

Glycopeptide Resistant Enterococci (VRE/ GRE) policy [pdf / 245KB] This policy describes the Trust mechanisms for the identification and appropriate management of patients who have VRE/ GRE.

Clostridium Difficile policy [pdf / 503KB] The Trust policy is to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, patients, staff and other persons are protected against risks of acquiring Clostridium difficile through the provision of appropriate care, in suitable facilities, consistent with good clinical practice. Any patients presenting with an infection or who acquire an infection during treatment will be identified promptly and managed according to good clinical practice for the purposes of treatment and to reduce the risk of transmission
