The Trust policy is to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, patients, staff and other persons are protected against risks of acquiring Clostridium difficile through the provision of appropriate care, in suitable facilities, consistent with good clinical practice. Any patients presenting with an infection or who acquire an infection during treatment will be identified promptly and managed according to good clinical practice for the purposes of treatment and to reduce the risk of transmission
