When you arrive
Please arrive at 11am or after, to make sure we have time to prepare a bed area for you. On arrival you will be shown to your bed and a nurse will admit you, asking questions about you and your symptoms. The doctor will then be asked to examine you.
The admitting nurse and doctor will discuss the procedures that you are scheduled to have and will give you the relevant information booklets to read.
Depending on the nature of your condition you may be visited and advised by one of the three nurse specialists employed within the cardiology unit. The nurses offer advice on rehabilitation, heart failure and support patients waiting for a translation.
Your length of stay will depend on the type of procedure or investigation you are having, your nurse or doctor will be able to advise you on your expected length of stay.
