What we do
Paul Wood is a mixed cardiac and cardiac surgery unit, which is dedicated to the care of patients with adult congenital heart disease (ACHD). It also has day beds for cardiac catheterisation and ischaemic related heart disease.
We specialise in the care of young adult congenital heart patients but we also care for other cardiology complaints and run day case diagnostic catheters and interventions.
We provide care on a daily basis and are patient-centred and family-centred. We aim to return our patients to normal life as quickly as possible.
We also have a trans-oesophageal echo room and we run a system of self-referral by patients to give quick access to specialist care without going to local hospitals.
