The directorate is responsible for liaison with commissioners and other partner organisations.
Through this process we ensure that the Trust’s strategy and interests are represented fully to other organisations including Primary Care trusts (PCTs), Strategic Health Authorities and the National Specialised Commissioning Advisory Group (NSCAG). Our contact with these organisations is further strengthened through our main role of the negotiation and performance management of Service Agreements for NHS patient activity and income. We hold Service Agreements covering over 320 PCTs. Additionally we hold a number of Specialised Service Agreements, which cover cardiothoracic transplants and implantable devices such as ventricular assist devices and implantable cardiac defibrillators.
The directorate is responsible for developing business-marketing services to commissioners to ensure the Trust’s strategic aims are secure. The directorate also works with directorates to develop plans to ensure that national initiatives such as Choice or other waiting list initiatives are fulfilled and that National Service Framework standards are met and maintained.
