International reputation
Professor Ho is a regular speaker at international conferences and teaches courses in cardiology, electrophysiology, paediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery, pathology and veterinary science.
She has represented the Trust at events including the Heart Rhythm Society (USA), the European Congress of Cardiology, the European Heart Rhythm Association review course and the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons.
She also worked as a visiting professor at the University of Padova, Italy, in the 1980s.
Teaching
Professor Ho's human anatomy and morphology short courses are recognised internationaly, attracting participants from all corners of the world. In particular, her annual course 'Hands on Cardiac Morphology' has become so in demand that she is running it twice a year to increasing numbers of participants. She has run several of her short courses abroad, e.g. in Singapore, Turkey and Italy, and has more courses planned for the future. In addition to giving regular morphology seminars at the Trust for staff and visiting fellows, she conducts workshops on cardiac anatomy and morphology at the Trust that are designed to suit the training programmes of external institutions.
She teaches international students at the Trust and is currently mentoring two visiting fellows from Japan.
Societies
Professor Ho is a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and the current chair of its working group on Developmental Anatomy and Pathology.
She is also an honorary member of the Italian Group of Cardiovascular Pathology, a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and a member of the British Cardiac Society.
Published work
Professor Ho is on the editorial board of Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Annals and the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology.
