COURSE DIRECTORS:

DESCRIPTION:

This two-day course consists of two elements:

theoretical lectures suitable for those interested in fetal cardiology

and workshop sessions in the examination of the fetal heart.

The morning programme on both days will comprise lectures on echo-morphologic correlates using digital images and live video demonstrations of normal and abnormal heart specimens. These sessions will provide the basic building blocks of fetal and neonatal cardiac morphology for diagnosis.

The programme in the afternoons is designed to allow participants to apply knowledge gained from the morning sessions to problem solving in fetal cardiology. All participants will have opportunity for practical experience of “hands-on” scanning to improve skills on image acquisition under the guidance of tutors, and review and discuss abnormalities with a view to making a diagnosis.
