25 July 2018
The Prudential Ride London weekend festival of cycling will affect travel in London on Saturday 28 July and in London and Surrey on Sunday 29 July. The cycling events will take place on closed roads, which will affect public transport and road journeys along the event routes.
Any road used as part of the route will be closed for each event for either:
- the Prudential Ride London Free Cycle or the Prudential Ride London Grand Prix on Saturday 28 July
- the Prudential Ride London to Surrey 100 or Prudential Ride London-Surrey Classic on Sunday 29 July.
Roads adjoining the closed route will have restricted access for local residents and businesses.
Roads will be closed in central London on Saturday 28 July and in London and Surrey on Sunday 29 July 2018 so you’ll need to plan your travel in advance.
While the road closures are in place, access to the hospital buildings will be affected and there is likely to be heavy traffic congestion in the surrounding area.
Bus journeys will be severely impacted with some services suspended. A number of bus diversions will be in place, including the 11, 14, 22, 49, 211, 345 and 414 and buses, which usually pass the hospital.
All patients and visitors are advised to travel by Underground where possible. South Kensington is the closest Underground station.
